The actress responded to criticism of her movie (Re)Assignment, about an assassin forced to undergo sex transition surgery, by saying it’s not deep and people need to calm down. This echoes her previous statement where she argued why trans people should be grateful.

These things to don’t matter in the long run. It’s a movie. You aren’t supposed to see the actor’s genitals. What you are supposed to care about is the actual movie.

Though, I disagree with the thought of saying trans people can’t join the Olympics. It needs to be organized properly, of course, but there should be nothing that completey stops all trans men/woman from joining.
I love it when tumblr see a woman who speaks her mind.
But shouldn’t this actually be a step forward? To have a trans character in a movie without it being a big deal? For many years it was considered controversial to have a gay character on the big screen but now almost everyone just shrugs because being gay is mostly accepted in the Western world and certainly in pop culture. I get that there is a fine line between ignoring the fact that being trans is something that needs to be validated and that trans does not need to be put on spotlight, since it should be just as normal as seeing a gay person on screen. It shouldn’t be a big thing to be trans, if only people would just accept each other.
